Forestry seminar set for March 6
The Jackson Soil & Water Conservation District and Natural
Resources Conservation Service will be hosting a forestry seminar from 6
to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Hurstville Interpretive Center.
Traditional forestry practices will be discussed, along with new and
exciting alternatives.
Guest speaker Tom Wahl, owner of Red Fern Farm, grows high-value
tree crops, including chestnuts, heartnuts, persimmons, pawpaws and
aronia berries. He will describe forestry farming systems and options
for landowners.
