The Ohnward Fine Arts Center is will be holding auditions for Annie Jr., Monday, July 14 at 10 AM and again at 1 PM, at the Ohnward Fine Arts Center.  Students from ages 8 – 18 can audition for this show.  Both male and females are invited to audition.

Leapin' Lizards! The popular comic strip heroine Little Orphan Annie takes center stage in ANNIE JR., an adaptation of one of the world's best-loved and most-performed
musicals.  With pluck and positivity, Annie charms everyone she meets despite a next-to-nothing start in the Depression-era New York City of the 1930s. She is determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan.

When billionaire Oliver Warbucks decides to invite an orphan to his mansion for Christmas, Annie gets her chance to experience NYC anew outside the confines of the orphanage. Despite Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, Annie befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new home alongside Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

With plenty of parts to go around, including featured roles as well as ensemble parts for orphans, servants, and tourists, ANNIE JR. is ideal for productions involving different grade levels. The cast size and age range of the parts are flexible and the bright, tuneful score is easy to sing and filled with familiar numbers like “It’s the Hard Knock Life” and “Tomorrow.”

The cost for kids to participate is $35.  This covers all costumes, scenery, an Annie Jr. T-shirt and workshops.

Parts include:
Annie, Orphans, Grace Farrell, Drake, Miss Hannigan, Rooster and Lily, and Daddy Warbucks.  Plus many other ensemble parts.

Rehearsals will begin on Tuesday July 15.  Not very student will have to be at every rehearsal.  The larger groups of kids will meet from 9:30 AM through 11:30 AM Monday through Thursdays.  Soloist and small groups will meet in Monday through Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM through 8:30 PM.  Some Saturdays and Sundays may be added as the show gets closer.
